Creative Tops sold to US firm

Creative Tops Ltd has been acquired by US tableware, home décor and kitchenware company Lifetime Brands Inc.
The tableware firm has been bought along with its Hong Kong operation, Creative Tops Far East Ltd, in a deal which it says will boost its development and expansion into existing and international markets.
The current senior management team will remain in place and the company will be run autonomously in the UK, Creative Tops has said, with no change to day-to-day operations.
The acquisition is also set to significantly broaden the company's product range, whilst also helping to introduce some of its most successful tableware brands, such as V&A and Katie Alice, to new retailers across North and Central America.
Creative Tops md Patricia Dawson said: "The acquisition of Creative Tops and Creative Tops Far East Limited (CTFE) by such a high profile US tabletop organisation will strengthen our foothold into Europe and global markets; Lifetime Brands already operates a number of word renowned brands including Mikasa and Faberware, together with Pfaltzgraff, Gorham, Silversmiths, Wallace and many more famous household names.
"This acquisition will also enable the company to offer our customers a far more extensive product range outside of our current offering and will also help strengthen our existing brand portfolio."
