Crest Garden and Desch Plantpak link to boost gyo

A joint venture aimed at revitalising the retail grow-your-own (GYO) propagation market has been launched by Desch Plantpak and Crest Garden - the
new company created by former Solus managing director Nick Davies.
The products will be marketed exclusively under the Plantpak by Crest brand name. The range will include traditional Plantpak best sellers such as seed and gravel trays, propagators and plant pots together with several new additions including heated propagators and plant-raising kits.
The joint venture will combine the technical and production expertise of Desch Plantpak with the sales and marketing know-how of Crest Garden.
"This is a strategically attractive venture for both parties," said Mr Davies. "Plantpak is a respected brand in the UK horticultural industry with a long tradition of manufacturing for the professional and amateur markets. Crest Garden has the resources and expertise to ensure that the products are available to an even larger number of retail garden outlets."
Chris Clarke, Desch Plantpak md, added: "The co-operation with Crest Garden will combine a number of well known brands into an offering tailored to inspire gardeners."
The new Plantpak by Crest range will be launched at Glee this month.
