Bents Garden & Home md Matthew Bent and four fellow challengers have successfully completed the Coast to Coast Trans Penning Trail cycle ride, raising £1,600 for Bent's Charity of the Year - Ronald MacDonald House at Alder Hey Children's Hospital.
Mr Bent, his friend Wayne Price and three brothers-in-law Mark Downton, Andrew Morris and Scott Heesom covered more than 170 miles, starting at Liverpool Docks on September 24 and ending up in Hull after three days' riding.
Mr Bent said: "The Ronald MacDonald House at Alder Hey is a cause that is very close to my heart as myself and my wife spent quite a lot of time there when our second child was rushed to hospital. The care given by the team was fantastic and we will never forget the way we were treated."
He added: "We always put a lot of effort into fundraising for our charities of the year as each one is a very important cause. This year I wanted to give something a little bit extra on a personal basis as a special thank you for the care we received as a family."
