A plug adaptor and a mains adaptor have both been withdrawn from the market because of the dangers they pose to users.
The Extrastar Ladrón de 3 Plana plug adaptor can cause a fire because the entry holes are the wrong size and it is possible to connect a plug with a rating higher than the adaptor into the socket.
The Chinese-made product, which is white and comes in a blister pack, does not comply with the relevant national standard and has been compulsorily withdrawn from the market It is model number G3C1-/3 and batch number/barcode 8432011600337.
Meanwhile, the HL brand ac/dc mains charger for model helicopters can deliver an electric shock because the creepage and clearance distances between the primary and secondary windings are insufficient.
The product, also made in China, does not comply with the Low Voltage Directive and the relevant European standard EN 60950. It has no packaging and is model number HLD4124-120500. It has been voluntarily withdrawn.
