Decco teams up with Greenfingers

Wholesaler Decco has been announced as the logistics partner for Greenfingers' 'Turn Old into Gold' Scheme
Decco teams up with Greenfingers
The scheme encourages garden centres, nurseries and suppliers around the country to donate old and unwanted stock to the charity for resale at auction.

The new partnership will see Decco collect the stock, which includes plants, hardware, tools, furniture and garden equipment, from across the UK and take it to auctioneers W&H Peacocks in Bedford. The good are then sold off, with all proceeds going directly to Greenfingers.

Greenfingers Chairman John Ashley commented on Decco's involvement: "We are extremely grateful to Decco for coming on board to support Turn Old into Gold. Without their expert logistical help, free of charge, we simply could not make this scheme viable. Now we have this vital transport element in place we are really hoping to encourage anyone with unwanted stock to think of Greenfingers before they get rid of it."

Decco chief operating officer John Findlay added: ''We are delighted to be working with Greenfingers on this initiative and hope that garden centres and suppliers will take advantage of this opportunity to help our industry charity achieve the target set for the A Million Moments Appeal.''

Greenfingers now wants to call on garden centres and suppliers who have any unwanted stock - of any kind - to get in touch and donate their product via the Turn Old into Gold scheme. Stock can be donated by calling Greenfingers directly who will then arrange transportation via Decco.

Greenfingers head of fundraising Linda Petrons said: "Now we have Decco on board to help with the transportation element of our Turn Old into Gold scheme we are urging anyone with any unwanted or left over stock to give us a call - your trash really is our treasure! With little effort on the part of the garden centre or supplier we can take your stock off your hands and turn it into much needed funds for more gardens for children in hospices. Please do call us if you have anything you could donate."

Anyone with stock to donate can call Greenfingers on 01494 674749 or email info@greenfingerscharity.org.uk
