The developer behind the revamp of the Blackwater Trading Estate may have to go back to the drawing board after its application was deferred at two planning committee meetings last week.
Decision over Maldon retail park deferred by council
Aquila Holdings submitted plans to Maldon council for a 10,000 sq m development, featuring a DIY store, garden centre, hotel and restaurant, after it acquired a further five acres at the Blackwater Trading Estate in the Causeway, Maldon, Essex.

However, the firm could face the possibility of redesigning the development after a decision on its application was deferred at both the Special Central Area Planning Committee meeting and the Special Planning and Licensing Committee meeting last week.

Councillors are said to have asked for more information on the project and maybe even a redesign before it would consider giving Aquila the go-ahead.
