Tool manufacturer DeWalt has taken the decision to sell its new range of hand tools exclusively to Screwfix, risking alienating some of its other retailers in the process.
The new range consists of a comprehensive selection of items, from saws and screwdrivers, to hammers.
The move to sell exclusively to Screwfix was referred to as a "hot topic" by one tool retailer diyweek.net spoke to, while others suggest these products are simply a rebrand of Stanley products already on the market.
Retailer PR Industrial's owner, Julian Royston, told diyweek.net that: "It was clear that once the buyout of the Black & Decker group by Stanley got established there would be a lot of this cross pollination of brands into areas previously undeveloped."
