Discount chain QD Stores buys rival Thingmebobs
It follows a record-breaking Christmas for the larger, Norwich-based QD Stores, with like-for-likes growing more than 8% on last year. Thingmebobs, a 10-store chain with outlets in Essex and Cambridgeshire as well as Norfolk, has a reported annual turnover of around £6.5m.

QD has said the stores will continue to trade under the Thingmebob brand, and there are no redundancies planned for the current staff. The move brings QD's UK store numbers up to 49, with a reported turnover of more than £70m.
