Dixons axes website to focus on Currys

Published: 15 October 2012
Currys and PC World owner Dixons Retail has closed its website in order to bring its stores' and online presence in line.
The Dixons name disappeared from bricks-and-mortar retailing six years ago, with the brand deciding to focus purely on its website while Currys and PC World retained its shops.

Now, Dixons has closed Dixons.co.uk, and customers logging on are instead given the message: 'Welcome to Currys. We are happy to say that Dixons is now part of the Currys experience.'

At the same time, new websites are being launched for Currys and PC World.

Dixons Retail said that it no longer saw a place for Dixons.co.uk along with Currys.co.uk and PCWorld.co.uk.
