DIY retail roles increased more than any other in retail

DIY roles went up by 31% during the first six months of 2012 compared with the same period last year, according to job site retailchoice.com as reported by the Recruiter publication.
The site analysed 29,000 adverts placed during that time, and roles in DIY retail left other subsectors in the dust, with supermarket roles up 11% and department stores up 10%.
Management jobs dropped by 13% and fashion by 14%. An average of 16.7 applications were made for each job across the retail sector.
