Dobbies sets date for AIM delisting

Published: 6 June 2008
Scottish garden centre chain will be in private hands within a month.
Tesco has confirmed it will take Dobbies Garden Centres private.

Trading on the AIM Market of the London Stock Exchange will occur on July 3, 2008 at 7.00 a.m.

The supermarket declared its bid for full control of Dobbies Garden Centres to be unconditional, a major step on the road to delisting a company from the London Stock Exchange.

Tesco also said it has received valid acceptance of the offer of 3,024,255 Dobbies shares held by West Coast Capital (Lios) - Sir Tom Hunter's investment vehicle - taking its interest in Dobbies to 94.7%.

Directors James Barnes and Sharon Brown are recommending that the remaining Dobbies shareholders accept the offer; the first closing date of which is June 24, 2008.
