Dobbies submits plans for Aberdeen site

Published: 20 March 2009
A planning application for a new garden centre development on the outskirts of Aberdeen has been submitted to the city council.
The joint application, for Dobbies Garden Centre and James Cocker and Sons, seeks detailed planning permission to build a garden centre and horticulture facility, with a restaurant, warehouse, office and car parking.

The site for the planned centre is on the north side of the Lang Stracht, near to the Whitemyres Riding School.

Langstane Housing Association has also been granted planning permission to build 36 semi-detached houses and 68 flats on the existing Cockers Garden Centre site on the Lang Stracht.

A spokesman for the council said: "The planning committee will consider the application in due course."
