The 2007/8 season has been one of significant change for Mr Fothergill's heralding the launch of all new packaging and displays. Gone are the old red and green top packets, replaced with the more subtle light blue and sea green that let the natural colours of the flowers and vegetable shine out.
The redesign has extended well beyond the packet graphics to include a thorough review of the range offering, cultural information, hints and tips as well as the method of display. Old plastic stands have been replaced with metal hooks with a completely different approach to point of purchase material.
Ultimately the aim has been to increase sales of Mr Fothergill's seeds by making it more attractive and relevant to today's seed buyer and retail environment.
The full range has over 140 new seed lines including seed tapes and seed mats. Along side these we have introduced a natural bacteria bases treatment to increase the productivity of peas and beans called - Pea and Bean Booster. Applied once when sowing, Pea and Bean Booster encourages the plants to fix nitrogen from the air to feed them selves, replacing the need for additional chemical fertilizers.
The Garden Essentials range has been expanded to include 16 lines of simple but indispensable items that every seed grower should have. The complete range is displayed on one compact stand that sits alongside the Mr Fothergill's seed stands to creating relevant impulse purchase.
