Dunelm to expand furniture ranges
Published: 14 February 2014
Dunelm is set to expand its furniture ranges as it seeks to expand the business following positive half-year results posted in January.
The homewares retailer said new ranges will include self-assembly cabinets and outdoor furniture. Selected lines will be available to view in-store whilst the entire collection is available online, with some specific online-exclusive ranges. Dunelm is introducing more "style-led designs", it said, alongside its traditional ranges. This also follows its brand new upholstery service that was launched in the autumn.
A spokesperson said: "We will be carefully expanding our current range of furniture, particularly in self-assembly cabinetry and outdoor furniture in the coming months, which we hope will be a hit with our shoppers.
"We currently offer over 100 furniture ranges (nearly 1,000 different furniture products) for every room in the house and our offering has proved to be very popular with our customers."
In January,
Dunelm reported of a drop in like-for-like sales in the 26 weeks to December 28 2013, but total sales during the period grew by 4.8% to £356.3m when compared to the same period in 2012, when they were up 13.4%.
At the end of last month, the retailer announced it was
opening a new 30,500sq ft, two-floor store in the West Midlands.
