Earlswood team drive for charities in Pavestone Rally

Four members of staff at Solihull-based Earlswood Garden & Landscape Centre are taking part in this year’s Pavestone Rally where they will drive through 10 countries in just four days (September 7-10) in aid of Rainy Day Trust & Teenage Cancer Trust.
“The car being used had to be purchased for less than £500 so as you can imagine, it’s not going to be a luxury trip,” said business development manager Brett Sheridan. “After our first car was declared unfit to repair, we bought a big old Volvo S80 for £150 with over 400,000 miles on the clock. The car’s in with the signwriters now and should look a lot more eye-catching when completed for our first public outing in Solihull town centre this Saturday.
“Each team has to raise a minimum of £1,500 but the total is expected to well in excess of £100,000 (split 50/50) so it’s going to be a great event for the charities.”
Starting in Dover this marathon journey culminates in Monte Carlo and 100% of donations will go to the charity - all costs for the event are being paid by the team themselves.
Sponsors include local garage Moore Motors, Chandler Stone and CADS Net and cash donations can be made at the garden centre, online on the Virgin Money Giving page: http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/team/earlswood or you can meet the team with the car in Mell Square, Solihull on Saturday, August 12.
