Employee steals £22,000 from Homebase

Published: 2 June 2014
An employee at Homebase's Barnstaple, Devon branch, has appeared in court charged with stealing almost £22,000 from the company.
James Tallin, 39, admitted stealing over £21,900 from the home improvement retailer in 2012 and 2013. Exeter Crown Court was told that he has now repaid all the money but has lost his job and is now unemployed.

Tallin's case has been adjourned for sentence and a report by the probation service has been ordered. His defence will aim to get any sentence suspended.
