Small electricals distributor EPE has become the latest company to sign up as a sponsor of Britain's Best Retailer Awards 2010.

The company's financial director, Harry Singh, said that backing the event was all about raising the profile of EPE within the market.

"Brand awareness is the ultimate goal in this," he said. "There's no focus in the cookshop and independents market for small appliances and we need to shout about it.

Mr Singh added that the company would be adding new lines in domestic appliances and cookware next year and was also looking to recruit more sales staff in the south east and south west.

EPE is backing the Britain's Best Independent Department Store category in the awards, which honour the very best retailers within the home enhancement sector. And, with the deadline for entry extended to September 30 there is still time to enter - if you hurry. Click here to go to the BBRA website and download an entry form.

The awards' Silver winners and overall Gold winners will be announced at a black-tie event at the Manchester Hilton Deansgate on November 11 - tickets for which are now available.
