Evans wins Mica Achiever award

Robert Evans of Nibletts Mica Hardware in Builth Wells has won the Mica Achiever Award for 2007.
Presenting the award at the annual Mica gala dinner in Bristol on October 14, Mica md Belinda Barnard said Mr Evans had been a Mica member from the start, has served on the promotions committee for five years, has hosted Mica members for a shop visit and social event, and together with his wife Wendy has attended every regional and national Mica meeting that has been held.
Awards were also presented to new 'Mica Millionaires': members who have spent more than £1m in a year with Mica suppliers.
They are: Oadby Mica Hardware; Mathias Mica Hardware; Timber Mills Mica Hardware; Home Improvement Mica Hardware; Bradley's Mica Hardware; and David Neill Mica Hardware. Morris Mica Hardware was named the group's first double millionaire, and Merlin Mica Hardware was named the first triple millionaire
Announcing the group's supplier awards, purchasing director Neil Hoy, said: "These awards are recognition of those suppliers who have done that bit more in the eyes of the Mica members. These awards are voted by Mica members, ands we have had the best response ever."
Direct Supplier of the Year was LG Harris, with Draper Tools in second place and ICI Paints third.
Henkel retained its trophy from the previous year as the Indirect Supplier of the Year, and Stax Trade Centres took the award for Wholesaler of the Year.
The Sales Team of the Year award went to the Draper Tools team, and the individual salesperson award went to Adrian Love from CO Hamshaw.
Mica members and suppliers at the annual banquet dug deep into their pockets and raised just under £1,000 for the Rainy Day Trust.
