Garden, unsurprisingly, is the star of the Q2 figures on the DIY Week/GfK barometer. However, both the exterior and interior markets have seen sales growth compared with Q2 2009.
GfK Retail & Technology account director Daniel Fearnley said: "The GfK DIY leader market grew in value terms by 2.7% Q2 2010 versus Q2 2009. Both the interior and exterior market sectors saw sales growth, however the hard end of the market saw sales decline as the trade sector continues to suffer through the down turn."
