United Housewares Merchants has added Huelin (Agencies) Limited to its members list, taking the total to 13.
Promotions director, Shirley Richards told diyweek.net that since taking over the company on December 15, 2006 with her husband John Richards (managing director) UHM has undergone a facelift to create a 'new more professional image'.

"When we took over UHM we closed the Crediton office and moved into brand new offices in Exeter," Mrs Richards explained.

"We have completely changed the way we present our promotional material giving it a fresh and much more appealing and modern look."

The independent wholesaler is now actively seeking new members to increase its distribution, however, the director added it has no plans to impinge on areas already covered by its current members.

"We work very closely with both our members and suppliers alike in order to provide a quality service. To date this year we have 22 new suppliers, each bringing lots of exciting new products to the Group."

Mrs Richards said the company's hard work, new ideas and enthusiasm had not gone unnoticed.

"This is clear from the support we receive from members and suppliers," she added.

"Our enthusiasm has inspired our current suppliers to inject new life into their promotions.

"The benefits of all of this are evident in the obvious substantial increase in turnover this year in what has been a disastrous year for most other people due to the weather."

UHM members trade in housewares as well as areas including gardening, diy and leisure.
