A new £4m state-of-the-art warehouse will help Rodo, the leading supplier of decorating accessories, workwear and personal protective equipment, with continued business growth.
The warehouse has opened in Ashton-under-Lyne in Greater Manchester and is fitted out with 280 tonnes of racking enabling 10,000 additional pallet storage spaces.
It also benefits from a paperless management system, voice activated picking, laser guided 'man-up' fork-lift systems and auto-palletisers.
As it doubles current capacity for Rodo, the warehouse now enables receipt of up to five containers a day, allowing the company to expand the dispatch area of the current warehouse in Droylesden.
Rodo managing director, Bill Brierley, said: "We are now in an even better position to enhance our customer service, respond more quickly to enquires, and use our increased capacities to attract new customers and ultimately increase local employment.
"We're determined that Rodo remains a successful local business. We have been trading in the Ashton area for 88 years and our workforce is now over 100.
"These further improvements in our service and the fast availability of products will give us a valuable edge in our market needed to sustain future growth."
The warehouse was officially opened on July 18 by Joyce Brierley, daughter-in-law of company founder Joseph Brierley.
