Family-run store to close after almost two centuries

Published: 18 February 2011
Family-run pet and garden supplies retailer Frampton and Sons is set to close after 175 years.
The Hampshire-based business will open for the final time on February 26, after nearly two centuries on High Street, Ringwood.

Six members of staff are losing their jobs.

Despite repeated attempts, DIY Week was unable to speak to anyone at Frampton and Sons. However, Peter Coles, father of current owner Ian Coles, told the Andover Advertiser: "I am very sad. There has been a lot of family discussion - it was a difficult decision and many tears have been shed."
