Half the premises, two lorries, a forklift truck and about £50,000 of stock went up in flames that tore through Seeco's premises in Leigh-on-Sea, Essex.

The firm manufactures the Sika Trocal, a roof tile, which can cope with thermal movement experienced in all types of weather conditions.

Firefighters were called to the site just before 9pm on Sunday 14 March.

Essex Fire and Rescue's divisional officer, Bob Wahl, who was the officer in charge of the incident, said: "Initially three appliances were sent to tackle the incident, but on arrival, I requested additional back up.

"Six pumps and an aerial ladder platform were sent to the scene, along with a control unit."

Staff have promised that despite the fire it's 'business as usual' and are working on putting in temporary premises on site.
