Footwear specialist Brantano is poised to set up 30 more concessions within garden centres this year.
The retailer says it has enjoyed positive results from its existing concessions in a couple of centres operated by The Garden Centre Group (TGCG) and an independent. Now it plans to roll more out with TGCG and another independent garden centre.
David Short, managing director of Brantano parent Macintosh Fashion UK, said: "They have been very well attended so far. Garden centres suit retailers targeting certain demographics. For young kids and families they're great as it's a day out as there are usually restaurants and play areas nearby.
"On the other side of the scale retired and more mature people are also great customers so, if like Brantano, your target consumer fits either or both of those profiles, garden centres are a perfect fit."
Brantano was named the nation's fourth best retailer in
Verdict's 2014 Customer Satisfaction Awards. The survey of more than 5,800 customers analysed consumer opinions on range, price, convenience, quality, service and layout. John Lewis came top, followed by Dunelm and Ikea, with Matalan in fifth place.
