Forest Garden acquires M&M Timber

Published: 8 January 2014
Timber garden products supplier Forest Garden Group has acquired fellow timber goods company M&M Timber.
Forest Garden says that its portfolio of garden structures, fencing, trellis and gates will be an ideal fit with M&M's range of garden and landscaping products. The latter will also now be able to further develop into the landscaping, agricultural and play equipment markets.

Forest Garden, with sales of around £50m, and M&M which turns over some £6m, operate from nearby sites in Worcestershire.

Commenting on the deal, Forest Garden Group chief executive Guy Grainger said: "I'm delighted to welcome M&M into our business. The opportunities this brings, not just to M&M but to us collectively, are significant. All of our customer channels will feel the benefit of this acquisition, from a wider product and service offer to new innovations from the timber technology now available to the group."

M&M managing director Nigel Poyner added: "We're excited by this new chapter in M&M's history; with the support of Forest we will now be able to invest the time and resources needed to develop our more specialist markets that we have for so long sought to focus on."
