Euan Sutherland has resigned from the top role at The Co-operative Group less than a year after moving there from Kingfisher.
After just 10 months as chief executive at The Co-op Mr Sutherland declared it to be "ungovernable", and pointed to a lack of enthusiasm to embrace his plans for reform.
In particular he is reported to be unhappy over a number of leaks about changes he wanted to make, and the size of his £3.6m pay package.
Mr Sutherland joined Kingfisher in 2008 as chief executive officer of B&Q and Kingfisher UK, going on to become
group chief operating officer. At The Co-op he replaced Peter Marks, who retired.
