Former Matalan ceo joins What More UK

It’s exciting times for What More UK as Angus Monro, latterly ceo of Matalan and Instore, becomes non-executive chairman.
The UK's biggest manufacturer of plastic storage and housewares products announced the appointment today of the ceo who led high street retailer Matalan through floatation and subsequently oversaw a ten-fold increase in its share price.
"His experience will be a valuable addition to the existing team at What More UK and will assist in guiding the company to the next level and beyond," What More said in a statement.
Mr Monro, 51, is currently chairman of NSB Retail Systems and Flint Hyde Search and Recruitment.
He joined clothing retailer Matalan as a non-executive director in 1991 and went on to become chief executive five years later.
Previously he has been ceo of Brown & Jackson, owners of instore (formerly Poundstretcher), and senior positions at Kingfisher, and the Burton Group.
