David Haycox, former operations controller for Morrisons, has joined QD Stores as operations director.
Mr Haycox will spearhead further management changes for the value retailer as it looks to expand, in terms of both online and store numbers.
His main role will consist of taking responsibility for store operations and developments at the 48 sites operated by Norwich-based QD, including its Cherry Lane Garden Centres, Thingmebob and Lathams stores.
Mr Haycox's experience spans 30 years within the retail industry, starting as a trainee before moving on to a regional management position at Safeway.
He joined Morrisons in 2004 as area manager for the East of England.
QD has also appointed James Collins and Karl Ottolangui as associate directors.
Commenting on the appointments, group chief executive Nick Rubins, said: "QD aims to grow its share of the UK's thriving value retail sector via an omnichannel approach combining the attributes and appeal of its high street and out-of-town sites with an online counterpart that can transcend the limitations of physical retailing.
"David, James and Karl bring the requisite blend of skills to expand both online and in-store availability via effective supply chain management driven by clear consumer demand for quality, value-for-money, which in turn forms the trading ethos of our company since we launched in 1985."
