Former Wickes managing director, Richard Bird, has joined the new team at Focus DIY.
Mr Bird has been appointed to the board of the company as brand director and is the third senior member of Wickes to join Bill Grimsey's Cerberus-backed Focus revolution.

Last week it was announced that his former Wickes colleagues, Gary West and Rob Gladwin were to join the Crewe-based diy giant.

Cerberus Investments acquired Focus last month and installed a new management team led by Mr Grimsey and finance director Bill Hoskins.

Mr Bird is a senior player in the diy sector and has over 30 years experience in the industry. He was md at Wickes from 2000 to 2006.

Mr Grimsey said: "We are delighted with the appointment of Richard to the board. He brings an enormous amount of experience and respect from the industry."
