Ongoing success in furniture and a strong winter sale performance helped Dunelm grow sales by 10.7% in its third quarter.
The 13-week period to March 28 2015 saw the homewares specialist achieve total sales of £216.2m, although like-for-like growth dipped from the first half of the financial year from 6.2% to 4.9%, reflecting the stronger comparative performance over the same period last year.
Dunelm said that in-store sales had benefited from a particularly successful winter sale, as well as continuing success in its made-to-measure service and furniture.
The retailer has opened eight superstores in the financial year to date and four more are expected to open before the year end, taking the total to 148 stores at the year-end. It has also committed to a second leasehold distribution centre close to the existing facility in Stoke which will provide additional capacity to the network from next spring.
Chief executive Will Adderley said: "We have recorded solid sales growth over the last quarter, and we believe that we have continued to take market share on a like-for-like basis.
"We have a strong Easter event now in progress, a powerful summer sale to follow, and the launch of our new web platform before the end of the financial year, all of which leave us well placed to drive further sales growth through our final quarter."
