Gloucester-based Space Catering Equipment, which provides commercial kitchen design services and equipment to garden centres, is opening its first London office.
The new base, in Lots Road, Chelsea, will give the company a greater presence in the capital and enable it to create closer ties with its clients there, which also include leisure outlets, pubs, hotels and restaurants.

Space Catering Equipment is part of the Space Group, which also includes Space Furniture and Space Interior Contracts, both of which focus on front of house within the food service industry.

Said Mike Mellor, Space's founder and ceo: "So many of our key accounts have a presence in London, and because of this we're always working in town on live projects as well as meeting clients there to discuss projects elsewhere. It makes sense to establish a base here to give our clients an even better service and to create closer ties with their London teams.

The new London office will open on May 1.
