Garden Centre Group appoints head of home

Deniece Farr takes up new role this month, overseeing ranges including giftware and Christmas.
In her new role as head of home, Ms Farr will be responsible for the purchasing of giftware, Christmas products, outdoor pots, clothing, books and food for the Garden Centre Group.
Chief executive Nicholas Marshall commented: "On behalf of the team at The Garden Centre Group, I would like to welcome Deniece to the company. She has a great deal of experience in retail and good knowledge of the garden centre trade."
Ms Farr's is one of a number of new appointments made by The Garden Centre Group in recent weeks, including Andrew West as head of garden care and Peter Burks as regional manager for the south west.
She has more than 25 years' experience in the retail industry and was most recently carrying out retail consultancy work for Oxfam. Ms Farr has spent the majority of her career at Selfridges in various buying roles.
She also spent three years working as general manager at Bridgemere Nursery & Garden World, which is now owned by The Garden Centre Group.
Prior to this Deniece was employed by Alliance Boots Ltd. as the Senior Category Buyer and she has also worked for Waterstone's Booksellers Ltd., Binney & Smith Ltd. and TM Retail Ltd.
