GCA announces new chairman

Published: 12 June 2009
Martin Stewart to enjoy a second stint.
The GCA is pleased to announce that Martin Stewart of Stewarts Garden Centres was voted unanimously by board members earlier this week to succeed Chairman Martin Davies when his term in office comes to an end in January 2010. Martin Stewart is not unfamiliar with the role having previously held the position in 1995.

Stewart said "I have some clear objectives to help our members get more out of this wonderful association and help our associate members gain more benefits from their involvement. It's been a great year for the Garden Centre Trade and its important time to build on that. I am looking forward to working with GIMA to make the most of our valuable and important opportunities.

The GCA has been so important to us as a small family business, many of my closest friends are in this industry, it's nice to be giving something back".
