GCA announces the venue for its 2014 conference

The Garden Centre Association (GCA) has revealed the location of its next annual conference and the winners of its 'guess the venue competition'.
Following
several clues from the organisation, the GCA has announced its 2014 conference will be held at the Hilton Blackpool Hotel, located on the North Promenade Sea Front, from January 26 until 29. More than 300 delegates from the nation's leading garden centres, including independents and chains, are expected to attend.
Meanwhile, the winners of the competition have been revealed: Jill Nicholson from Gordale Garden Centre, Richard Pennell from Pennells Garden Centres, Boyd Douglas-Davies from Hillview Garden Centres, Peter Bensted from Polhill Garden Centre, William Blake from St Peters Garden Centre, Dennis Espley from Squires Garden Centres, Philip Mabon from Floramedia.
Ian Ducker from Langlands Garden Centres, Conna Powles from Haskins Garden Centres, Paul Cooling from Coolings Garden Centres, Philippa McKean from Van Hage, Trevor Pfeiffer from Garden Trade News, Adam Taylor from Taylors Bulbs, Deanna Vine from CSY and Maryanne Stokes from Maryanne Stokes were also successful.
Iain Wylie, interim chief executive of the GCA, said: "We have had lots of fun releasing clues about our new conference venue and we're pleased to announce 15 people guessed correctly and will receive a bottle of champagne in their room at the conference.
"As always our conference will provide attendees with pertinent information on key aspects of the garden centre industry to assist members in achieving their business goals," he added. "The information shared will focus on a wide range of topics, including merchandising, marketing and management."
