GCA names Scotland’s Best Garden Centre

Caulders Garden Centre in Kirkintilloch has been named as the Garden Centre Association’s Best Garden Centre in Scotland for 2008.
Caulders Garden Centre in Kirkintilloch, East Dunbartonshire, Scotland has scooped six awards in Scotland's heats to find the GCA's annual Garden Centre of the Year.
The GCA also presented Caulders with awards for Scotland's Best People, Best Plant Area, Best Gardening Retailer and a final award for Outstanding Achievement.
Caulders currently has two garden centres in Glasgow - Caulders Kirkintilloch and Caulders Mugdock.
However, it is in the process of building a third centre in Newton Mearns, Glasgow which is due to open in February 2009.
"This will be the biggest and most ambitious of their garden centres," Colin Barrie, managing director told DIYWeek.net.
He said of the win: "We are delighted to have won these awards, and are looking forward to our challenges at Newton Mearns where we will focus on quality, plants, quality catering and quality service. This is an exciting time for Caulders."
