GCG adds charity shop concession to Kent GC

Chartham Garden Centre in Kent is the latest Garden Centre Group businesses to add a charity shop concession in aid of Pilgrims Hospices.
The shop was put into the garden centre by concessions services provider First Franchise, which said garden centres were particularly well-suited to hosting charity shops.
First Franchise operations director Ian Silverton said: "Charities and charity shops are an excellent fit for garden centres and we have worked with a number of organisations. In the past we have offered both promotional areas for short term lets in addition to this kind of shop space."
The group added that concessions helped boost footfall in garden centres during difficult trading times as they aren't weather reliant and give consumers extra reason to visit.
The Pilgrims Hospices concession at Chartham sells clothing, accessories, bric-a-brac and more than 3,000 books.
