Prime Minister Gordon Brown paid a visit to the new B&Q store in Kirkcaldy earlier this week ahead of its official opening on Friday (May 29).
The visit formed part of his constituency tour and included a small ceremony to unveil a plaque to 'officially' open the store despite the fact the public won't be able to get in for a few days.
The store is one of seven new B&Q stores opening this year, which have been built to replace existing smaller stores. Typically each is about twice the size of the store it's replacing with expanded product ranges and larger garden centres and kitchen, bathroom and bedroom displays.
Chesterfield, Dover and Newport have already opened with fur more, including Kirkcaldy, yet to open.
Kirkcaldy store manager Gary Burns said: "It was an honour to host the Prime Minister at B&Q. It was a massive morale boost for our team and a day of excitement for everybody involved."
