Gorilla Glue issues 'fifty shades of red' warning
Published: 13 February 2015
With the release of the film Fifty Shades of Grey at the weekend, Gorilla Glue is urging its customers not to use its products if they wish to recreate scenes from the erotic film.
The company is concerned that people may injure themselves if they use Gorilla Tape when trying to engage in
some of the unconventional sexual practices in the film.
European sales director of Gorilla Glue Simon Damp said: "When the Fifty Shades of Grey books were first released a couple of years ago DIY stores across the country reported an increase in duct tape product sales then and we're expecting the same thing to happen again.
"It is vitally important for us at Gorilla Glue to raise awareness of just how tough Gorilla Tape actually is and it should not be used in any fantasies people may have after watching the film.
"An inferior duct tape product should be used in recreating erotic scenes, as our tape is so strong it will leave serious injuries if it is applied to the skin and would lead to fifty shades of red.
"We've approached the British Board of Film Classification to discourage viewers from using Gorilla Tape and to issue a health warning before and after the film," he added.
