Published: 20 May 2011
Grosvenor Garden Centre in Chester has broken its own fundraising record by collecting a total of £8,000 in the past 12 months.

The cash was raised through many initiatives and activities including abseiling the Liver Building, completing the 15-mile Wirral Coastal Walk, staff bake sales, donating packets of seeds for resale (which raised £1,000) and completing the Snowdonia marathon.

The money raised has been donated to Claire House children's hospice in Bebington and Grosvenor md Iain Wylie recently presented the cheque to the charity (pictured above).

He said: "I am delighted that we have raised this record amount for Claire House during the past 12 months. It has been a great achievement and I would like to thank all the Grosvenor tea, that have given their time to Support Claire House."

He added that the business would continue to support the hospice as its nominated charity in 2011.
