Gwynedd garden centre plans expansion

An award-winning Gwynedd garden centre is hoping to gain permission for a significant expansion.
Fron Goch Garden Centre near Caernarfon has submitted plans to extend its garden shop and cafe by a total of 376sq m. The business also wants to increase the number of parking places for the additional customers it hopes to attract.
There would also be new storage, and the servicing yard would be extended.
The plans have been recommended for approval as they are likely to provide a jobs boost, and are considered to be in line with the policy of promoting the Welsh rural economy.
A planning report stated: "The garden centre currently employs 79 people (full and part time) and this figure could increase to 95 if the application is approved."
The scheme will go before Gwynedd County Council's planning committee next week.
Family-run Fron Goch won this year's Best Garden Centre award for the north west area from the Garden Centre Association.
