Harris Home Hardware in Canada has started the policy in a bid to prevent dog owners leaving their pets in hot cars while shopping.
As the weather warms up dog owners like to take their pets out with them to enjoy the sun, but often decide to leave them in their cars while they pop to the shop.
This can result in the animals death as the car soon turns into an oven in the hot sun.
But Harris Home Hardware in London, Canada has come up with the novel idea to prevent this happening and now welcomes well-behaved dogs into the store.
Owner and canine lover Tracy Harris said the store has regular customers who bring their dogs in all the time.
According to the RSPCA when the temperature reaches 22 deg C outside the temperature in the car can soon reach 47 deg C within an hour.
Could this idea take off here in the UK?
