High street names launch second round of pre-Christmas sales

Marks and Spencer will hold a second one-day sale in as many months as it looks to drive up pre-Christmas sales, as Debenhams plans three-day price cut.
The event, which was first held in November, will take place tomorrow (Thursday 4 December).
Doors at the majority of M&S stores will open early and remain trading until midnight with some going until 1am.
Customers will receive 20% off home products and clothing, but not all food, both in store and online.
M&S chairman, Stuart Rose, said: "We know people are feeling the pinch and we want to give them a helping hand in the run up to Christmas."
The news comes the day after Debenhams announced it would be repeating its price-cutting on the 3, 4 and 5 December.
"We're back by popular demand - it's as simple as that", said Debenhams' deputy chief executive, Michael Sharp: "We're delivering fantastic designer value at a time when customers tell us they want it - after all that's our job."
