A joint Somerset Home Hardware business has won the Home Hardware Retailer of the Year at the organisation's convention last weekend. Meanwhile, Manor Reproductions was named Supplier of the Year.
Lanes Home Hardware in Cheddar and Casswells Home Hardware in Midsomer Norton are part of the same business and the Retailer of the Year award marks a memorable year for the company and its owner, Michael Bauff, and director, John Witt. In choosing a winner, Home Hardware took into account the professional approach to retailing including promotions, store layout, staff training, customer care and overall commitment to Home Hardware.
Said ceo of Home Hardware Martin Elliott: "I'm thrilled that Casswells and Lanes Home Hardware have won this award. Both these stores became corporate four years ago and they were recently visited by fellow corporate members all of whom were thoroughly impressed by their very high standards."
Mr Witt said: "I'm delighted to receive the Home Hardware Retailer of the Year Award as it recognises the teams at both stores for their hard work and professionalism."
The Supplier of the Year award was given to Manor Reproductions on the night. Companies were judged for performance, speed and accuracy of delivery, stock availability, field support and general ease of doing business. The award was presented to managing director David Laschke in recognition of Manor Reproduction's service to Home Hardware's distribution business at Barnstaple and Bedford.
"With the help of Manor we produced our first Fireside Catalogue back in 2009 and during the last five years we have more than doubled our turnover in this product sector," added Mr Elliott. "As well as being professional and friendly they are an easy company to do business with. They have an excellent product range and have been regular supporters of Home Hardware Promotions and Trade Shows."
Mr Laschke said: "Our excellent trading relationship has developed very closely over recent years and it is truly rewarding to see our company's efforts recognised by this presentation."
