Home Hardware pays out record rebate

Dealer-owned wholesaler pays £87,000 back to members as local consumers boost sales.
Home Hardware Southwest Limited recently paid £87,000 back to its members relating to the trading year to June 2008.

Chairman John Fewings commented: "We are delighted to further reward our members for their loyalty and commitment."

He added: "On-going investment is essential to produce the service levels that Home Hardware retailers need in a competitive trading climate.

"Independents pride themselves on service which can only be built on the firm foundations of having the customers' requirements in stock when they want it. Many members are doing very well as consumer appear to be shopping more locally."

iIT SEEMS THAT ALL SUPPLIERS LOOK FOR MINIMUM ORDER VALUES THAT EXCLUDES MOST SMALLER RETAILERS,THIS ALSO INCLUDES THE JOINING FEE APPLIED BY HOME HARDWARE WHICH IS BEYOND WHAT MANY CAN AFFORD,INCLUDING MYSELF, ESPECIALLY WHEN FACED WITH THIS FEE OR STOCK,I FEEL ALL SUPPLIERS SHOULD CONSIDER THIS. MANY WHOLESALERS WHILST DOING AN EXCELLENT JOB CANNOT IN ALL REALITY STOCK EVERTHING MEANING LOST SALES FOR THE MANUFACTURER AND RETAILER
