Following the success of last year's visit to the Canton Fair, Home Hardware Scotland's general manager, Chris McEwan and senior buyer, Derek O'Ware are set to make a return 10 day visit at the end of April.
Mr McEwan said: "Last year was the first time we attended the Canton Fair and we found it to be extremely beneficial for Home Hardware. It allowed us to source products at very competitive prices, which meant that we could pass on the benefits to our members."
Following contact made with several Chinese manufacturers at last year's event, Home Hardware imported an additional 22 containers. The products included housewares, gardening, sledges and snow shovels, which have since been marketed with great success in the group's promotional brochures.
"We also found a very good supplier for some of our garden furniture range, which is now being advertised in our spring brochure currently being dispatched to over 300,400 customers throughout Scotland and the north of England," added Mr McEwan.
"Our sales for the first quarter of this year are up 3.34%, like for like, and I would say that the products we sourced at the Canton Fair have contributed significantly to this figure."
