Sales increased by an impressive 19% at Home Hardware, after retailers collectively distributed over one million Spring DIY and housewares brochures and leaflets.
The increase equated to more than 5% on a like-for-like store basis. Home Hardware attributed the boost to a price-aggressive 'save' campaign featuring big discounts on brands including Dulux, Flymo, Horwoods, Brita, Kitchencraft, Morphy Richards, Russell Hobbs, Salter, Stellar and Vax.
Home Hardware's marketing manager Beverley Wood said: "We are thrilled with both the increased print run and significant sales volumes. This confirms that our consumer promotions hit the mark in terms of attracting new and existing customers to our member stores. Our stock availability throughout this promotion was over 97%.
"Without doubt, this promotion significantly increased customer footfall and retail sales in what can be a quiet period prior to Easter. Home Hardware greatly appreciates the support of our suppliers who helped to make it so successful."
