Homebase is rumoured to be interested in some of the Homeform brands which entered administration this week.
According to press reports this morning, the DIY chain, which has Homeform concessions within its stores, is interested in acquiring some of the group's brands which include Moben Kitchens, Dolphin Bathrooms and Kitchens Direct.
Homeform owner Sun European Partners has already bought back the Sharps Bedrooms brand via a new company, but the remaining operations closed after administrators Deloitte were appointed on Wednesday, resulting in the loss of 557 jobs.
Joint administrator Phil Bowers said: "We are now in urgent discussions with the key stakeholders and interested parties of Moben, Dolphin and Kitchens Direct in an attempt to sell all or parts of the businesses."
A spokesperson for Homebase parent Home Retail Group told
DIY Week that the reports were "rumour and speculation" and said the company would not be commenting further at this point.
Home Retail acquired the brand rights and three London stores from Habitat last month after the furnishings retailer entered administration.
The company also took on the Schreiber and Hygena brands after the collapse of MFI in 2008.
