Following on from the success of its Garden Academy, Homebase has launched its Interior Design and Decorating Academy.
The home enhancement retailer is now on the hunt for the next generation of interior designers and hopes to do this through the creation of its new academy.
The programme is aimed at young people aged 16 and above, and will give successful applicants the chance to gain qualifications and experience in interior design and decorating.
Students who become a part of the academy will work full-time in their local Homebase store's Design Hub to gain experience in helping customers decorate and redesign the look of any room in their home, during their official training programmes.
Students will also spend time with industry experts and big brand suppliers of Homebase.
At the end of their time in the academy students will have worked their way towards achieving a City & Guilds accredited qualification in interior design and decorating.
Students will also receive visual merchandising training and experience and will gain customer service training from the Institute of Customer Service.
Homebase HR director, John Shaw, said: "As one of the UK's leading home enhancement retailers, we are committed to championing our industry as a great career choice - and we're delighted to be able to offer young people a step on the career ladder."
