Homebase has issued a recall for its Bamboo Roll Up Blinds over fears the pull cord breakaways are too strongly locked and could pose a risk of strangulation to a small child.
Homebase recalls blind over child strangulation fears
In a product recall statement, the Home Retail Group store said that this was a precautionary measure and that there had been no reported incidents. The strangulation risk is due to the force required to separate or break the cord's safety device, which young children would not be able to do.

The store is advising all customers who have purchased one of the items after June 1, 2014, to stop using it immediately and call for a free replacement breakaway device and instructions, or return the item to their nearest Homebase store for a full refund.
