Homebase scraps Spend & Save loyalty scheme

Published: 16 March 2009
Spend & Save, Homebase's in-house loyalty scheme is to be replaced by the now familiar Nectar points system.
Homebase scraps Spend & Save loyalty scheme
The switchover will take place this summer and Homebase will be advising all Spend & Save cardholders about the exact terms and details in due course.

Homebase is the first bricks and mortar DIY retailer to subscribe to the scheme, although Nectar cardholders can already collect points when shopping online with B&Q.

Homebase have also abandoned the "Click + Collect" service they offered until recently. A useful facility that has been removed by the new owners.

I have an expired Homebase card. Have they stopped issuing new ones or renewing old ones? If so has it been replaced by Nectar card

I too have been having a clear out and found my Homebase Spend & Save Card. Can the points be transferred onto my nectar card and if so how do I do this?

we have a nectar card so can we spread cost of purchases from homebase as before or is it just a loyalty nectar card to collect spendable points?

I have just discovered three Homebase cards during a clear-out. What should I do, can I still claim back the point on these cards, or can they be converted to Nectar Points?

I have had my card including my nectar card right up to Christmas. Was surprised initially that they kept my account going. Now I will just pay it off. I will be able to do this in one go shortly thank God. No more interest to pay to them.

I work at Homebase, there was no reason to destroy your s&s card until nectar kicked in. your points are not transferred. any points on s&s card should be given as vouchers in July 09 statement. nectar only required the s&s card number to match data across. Plus I never accepted customers cards as they contained your home address. never give any cards to anyone, destroy them yourself if you need to.

I too am unable to claim as I destroyed my Spend and Save card as instructed at Homebase. I was told it was being replaced by my nectar card!

Similar comment to Anne Low. I have lost my Spend and Save card, but what is the possible excuse for demanding this number when the card is being replaced? This makes me less inclined to go to Homebase.
